The St. Joseph's University, New York (L.I.) women's soccer team remained unbeaten in four straight wins, winning 3-0 on Saturday. 

Top performers

  • Junior Michaela Barresi led the Golde Eagles with one goal and 83 minutes played
  • Senior Brooke Esposito played 24 minutes off the bench, scoring one goal
  • Freshman Julia Dunne also recorded one goal off the bench in 21 minutes of action
  • Freshman Bella Sweet added one assist for SJLI

How it happened

  • The Golden Eagles played a favorable first half but couldn't find the back of the net until SJLI was awarded a penalty kick in the 43rd minute, which Barresi capitalized on to enter the half with a one-goal lead
  • As the second half got underway, Esposito wasted no time building on St. Joseph's (L.I.)  lead, scoring a goal in the first minute of action in the half
  • SJLI maintained control for most of the match as Dunne would net the final goal of the game off the pass from Sweet to secure the 3-0 victory over the Bears
