Top Performers

  • Madelyn Barone led the Golden Eagles with 19 points, connecting on 6-of-18 from the field, 6-of-6 FT, and 1-of-3 from beyond the arc, while adding one assist, two steals, and three rebounds.

How It Happened

  • The Golden Eagles battled through a defensive first quarter, taking a 13–12 edge from a three-pointer from Kallie Eichner and inside scoring from Madelyn Barone.
  • SJLI was able to take a lead in the second quarter, using a 10-2 run to build a 27-17 lead with 3:22 remaining, highlighted by finishes from Barone, Addison Dellaporta, and Chantelle Larbi.
  • Sarah Lawrence came back into the game late in the second to lead 31–25 at halftime, despite the strong on-ball pressure from the Golden Eagles throughout the half.
  • The momentum shifted at the start of the third as the Gryphons opened the third quarter shooting 60 percent from the floor.
  • Although the Golden Eagles continued to use the Gryphons's turnovers to their advantage, Sarah Lawrence found enough scoring inside to take back the game, 41–39, with three minutes left in the period.
  • St. Joseph's (L.I.) tied the game at 48 early in the fourth from a three-pointer from Rebecca Vitale, but Sarah Lawrence responded with a 7–0 run sparked by Hudson.
  • SJLI continued to fight, with Eichner connecting on two late three-pointers, but SLC sealed the contest at the free-throw line in the final minute.
