How it happened:

  • After the Rams captured an early 4-0 lead three minutes into play, the Golden Eagles produced eight quick points, with Justin Forest and Tabada each hitting a three-pointer to make the score 8-6, with 16:20 left in the first half
  • As Farmingdale quickly regained the lead, and both teams traded baskets back-and-forth over the next six minutes as a Ryan McNeely jumper propelled SJLI ahead by one before a Tabada pull-up increased the lead to three (20-17) with just under ten to play
  • The Golden Eagles held on to the lead for six minutes, but back-to-back jumpers from Jovayne Walters allowed FSC to claim the lead again (25-24) with 3:51 to play until half
  • With just 1:40 to go in the half, a Justin Turner layup gave St. Joseph's the lead (28-27), but Jevon Santos would go on to score six straight points for the Rams to hold a 33-28 lead going into half
  • Tabada opened the second half scoring with a driving layup before Buckley answered with a three-point jump shot to increase the Rams lead to six
  • Farmingdale would hold a slight lead of no more than five points over the next seven minutes of play when an Esposito three off the pass from Maxwell cut the FSC lead to just one (46-45) with 10:46 to go
  • Shortly after, the Rams would outscore the Golden Eagles 12-5, which would be halted when Maxwell responded to a Buckley three with a three of his own to bring the lead back to single digits (58-50)
  • St. Joseph's would try to cut into the deficit but was unable to decrease Farmindale's lead to less than eight points as the Rams secured the victory down the stretch with a final score of, 67-59
