The St. Joseph's University, New York (L.I.) men's volleyball team extends its win streak to 13 straight with a Skyline Conference sweep against Purchase College in the Danzi Center on Wednesday night.

St. Joseph's (L.I.), 14-6, 12-0 Skyline; Purchase, 13-13, 6-5 Skyline

Top Performers:

• Juniors Luke MacPherson and Hank Foglia led the Golden Eagles with seven kills apiece

• Senior Logan Meyer added five kills with four digs

• Sophomore middle AJ Esposito finished with a match-best seven blocks, three solo and four assisted

• Setters Will Kropp and Dominic Ruggiero tossed 20 and nine assists, respectively

• Libero Chris Sarnacola had a team-high seven digs

• Channing Williams of Purchase finished with a match-best 18 kills with four digs

How it happened:

• Purchase scored first in the opening set, 3-0, but the Golden Eagles rattled off seven straight points for a 7-3 advantage. The hosts maintained momentum cruising to a 25-15 win. 

• St. Joseph's opened up set two 13-0 and hit .545 as a team en route to a 25-8 win. Meyer finished with four kills with MacPherson and Foglia adding three kills apiece

• Set three was played closely with the teams deadlocked at 18. The next three points went in favor of the Golden Eagles before the home team locked up the sweep with a 25-20 win. Junior Adam Bender finished with four kills with freshman Cole Violi pitching in with three

Notes:

• As a team, St. Joseph's (L.I.) hit .370 while holding Purchase to .042

• The Golden Eagles collected 38 digs and put up nine total blocks. The Panthers finished with 28 digs and two total blocks

St. Joseph's resumes Skyline Conference action when they travel to New Jersey City University for a tri-match with St. Joseph's-Brooklyn. The Golden Eagles will face the Bears at 1:00 pm before taking on the Gothic Knights at 3:00 pm.
