The St. Joseph's University, New York (L.I.) men's volleyball team extends its win streak to 15 with a pair of Skyline Conference sweeps against St. Joseph's-Brooklyn and New Jersey City University on Saturday afternoon.

The Bears trailed 10-9, but six unanswered points in favor of the Golden Eagles created some distance, 16-9. SJLI only surrendered four additional points in the set taking the 25-13 win. Bender knocked down five kills with Kerns pitching in with three

The Golden Eagles held the Bears to single digits in the final two sets securing the sweep with 25-8, 25-6 wins.

Junior Luke MacPherson knocked down a team-best 12 kills while hitting at a .458 clip while collecting a team-high nine digs

How it happened:

The Golden Eagles broke a 9-9 stalemate with an 11-1 run featuring three kills from Meyer to double up on the Gothic Knights, 20-10. SJLI went on to take a 1-0 match lead with a 25-16 win

NJCU kept it close in the second set with SJLI leading but just one, 19-18, late in the frame, but the Golden Eagles earned six of the final nine points for the 25-21 win. MacPherson finished with seven kills

Again, set three was tight with SJLI slightly ahead 20-18, but the visitors closed out the match on a 5-0 to complete the sweep with a 25-18 win
