Men's Volleyball Sweeps Yeshiva on Senior Night

The St. Joseph's University, New York (L.I.) men's volleyball team extends its win streak to 16 with a Skyline Conference sweep against Yeshiva University on Senior Night in the Danzi Center on Tuesday night.

Records:

St. Joseph's (L.I.), 17-6, 15-0 Skyline; 1-22, 0-14 Skyline

Top Performers:

  • Senior Denis O'Donoghue finished with a career-best 14 kills while hitting at a .500 clip while collecting seven digs and serving two aces

  • Senior Logan Meyer added eight kills, five digs, and two aces

  • Setters Will Kropp, Dominic Ruggiero, and Mason Aylward tossed 13, 11, and 12 assists, respectively

  • Jonathan Werta of Yeshiva finished with a team-best five kills, with Amiti Trabelsi recording eight assists

How it happened:

  • The Golden Eagles took a quick match lead with a 25-9 win in set one, hitting .565 as a team. Meyer recorded seven kills on eight attempts, with junior Hank Foglia going 3-for-3 in the middle

  • St. Joseph's started set two ahead 15-1 en route to a 25-7 win. O'Donoghue tallied six kills on nine attempts

  • SJLI went on to complete the sweep with a 25-13 win in the third set. O'Donoghue led all players with seven kills

Notes:

  • As a team, St. Joseph's (L.I.) hit .500 while holding Yeshiva to -.081

  • The Golden Eagles collected 29 digs and put up six total blocks. The Maccabees finished with 16 digs and one total block
