Men's Volleyball Sweeps Sarah Lawrence, 3-0

March 5, 2025- Patchogue, NY

Results:

The St. Joseph's University, New York (L.I.) men's volleyball team earned a 3-0 Skyline Conference sweep against Sarah Lawrence College in the Danzi Center on Wednesday night.

Records:

St. Joseph's (L.I.), 5-6, 4-0 Skyline; Sarah Lawrence, 7-6, 2-3 Skyline

Top Performers:

  • Graduate student Tyler Anderson finished with a team-best six kills while hitting at a .545 clip, while recording a match-high four blocks

  • Junior Hank Foglia knocked down four kills and also recorded four blocks

  • Setters Will Kropp and Dominic Ruggiero dished 18 and 15 assists, respectively  

  • Nate Davis and Lucas Buckley of Sarah Lawrence recorded six kills apiece

How it happened:

  • The Golden Eagles jumped out to an early 14-4 lead and never let the Gryphons cut their deficit to single-digits before going on to take set one 25-11. Foglia finished with three kills on five attempts with four blocks. Logan Meyer recorded three kills and an ace

  • St. Joseph's held Sarah Lawrence to single digits in set two with a 25-8 win. Anderson totaled five kills on seven tries 

  • SJLI completed the sweep with a 25-17 win in the third frame. Bryan Frascogna and Jesse Renniesen finished with four kills apiece. 

Notes:

  • As a team, St. Joseph's (L.I.) hit .354 while holding Sarah Lawrence to -.049

  • On the defensive end, the Golden Eagles collected 36 digs and put up eight total blocks. The Gryphons finished with 30 digs and 1 total block.

Up next:

St. Joseph's resumes Skyline Conference play when they travel to Yeshiva University on Sunday, March 9th. The Golden Eagles face Ramapo College at 1:00 pm before taking on the Maccabees at 3:00 pm.
