The St. Joseph's University, New York (L.I.) baseball team bounced back with a 16-9 non-conference win against New Jersey City University at Gregg Alfano Field on Wednesday afternoon.

How it happened:

The Gothic Knights batted around in the top of the first, stringing together five hits for four runs

The Golden Eagles got three back in the bottom half of the first. After loading the bases with one out, LaFroscia's single to center was mishandled, allowing all three runners to score, 4-3

St. Joseph's took the lead with three runs in the bottom of the third. A two-RBI triple by Thatcher was followed up by an RBI double by LaFroscia, 6-4

SJLI added four runs in the bottom of the fourth. Jake Hall and Thatcher each knocked in a run before a two-RBI single by LaFroscia, 10-4

NJCU sent 10 Gothic Knights to the plate in the top of the sixth, scoring four runs on five hits to inch within one, 10-9

A solo shot over the left field fence by Thatcher moved the score to 11-9 in the bottom of the sixth

The Golden Eagles added five runs in the bottom of the seventh for a 16-9 lead
