The St. Joseph's University, New York (L.I.) men's soccer team dropped its Skyline Conference opener, falling 3-0 to the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy on Wednesday night.
How It Happened
- Merchant Marine struck quickly, with Drew Boukidis finding the net just 37 seconds into the match.
- Boukidis doubled the Mariners' lead in the 24th minute, before Andrew Campbell capped the scoring at the 29-minute mark to make it 3-0.
- Despite conceding early, goalkeeper Adam Imran stood tall with eight saves to keep the Golden Eagles in contention during the second half.
- St. Joseph's generated eight shots (six on goal), but were unable to break through against Mariners' keeper Ethan Howell, who stopped all six attempts.
