The St. Joseph's University, New York (L.I.) women's volleyball team picks up a pair of wins on the road against Albertus Magnus and Centenary (NJ) on Saturday afternoon at The Nest at Albertus Magnus.
Top Performers
- Junior Nina Vanderhoof led all players with a season high 13 kills with a .355 hitting percentage. Vanderhoof also adds one block assist and five digs.
- Junior Lauren Goss tallied 41 aces, three kills, and five digs.Â
- Middle hitter Sarah Hansen collected 11 digs, one solo block, and one dig.
- Sophomore Isabella Juliano knocked down 10 kills and two digs.
- Libero Sarah Montefusco picked up 13 digs.Â
- Sophomore Alison Tsororos dished 16 digs and eight kills.
How It Happened
- The first set was steady between both teams, but the Golden Eagles landed on top in a 25-18 win, even with the Falcons having a set high of 15 kills as a team..
- Similar to the first set, set two remained steady with St. Joseph's (L.I.) and Albertus Magnus going back to back each point. In the end, the Golden Eagles take the win with 25-19.
- Set three the Falcons stood out towards the middle, 16-14, with five unanswered points which ultimately led Albertus Magnus to their first set win 25-17.
- The Golden Eagles clapped back in set four with multiple leads throughout the set and a set high of 18 kills helped St. Joseph's (L.I.) win the set 25-18, and match 4-1.

How It Happened
- The Cyclones led the way in the first set 4-1, until the Golden Eagles led with six unanswered points 7-4. The two teams went back and forth but the first set win goes to St. Joseph's (L.I.) 25-18.
- Both teams laid a steady ground in set two. But at the end that changed with Centenary (NJ) took a leading point advantage for four plays. But in the end it was a close match that the Golden Eagles won 25-21.
- St. Joseph's (L.I.) mainly dominated in set three securing the set win 25-18 due to errors on the Cyclones end. The Golden Eagles take the win 3-0.
