Golden Eagles dropped the match in straight sets (21-25, 17-25, 15-25) despite a competitive start in each set. Top performers: Declan Kerns led the Golden Eagles with seven kills, adding four digs and one assisted block Logan Meyer contributed four kills and three digs in Dominic Ruggiero dished out 15 assists, two digs, and one service ace in Connor Ruais paced the defense with 12 digs. Shaun Mischler recorded six kills, one assist and one dig Chris Sarnicola finished second on the team with six digs How it happened: Set 1 (NYU 25-21): The Golden Eagles jumped out to an early 4-2 lead, before the Violet offense found some rhythm to pull ahead 24-15. SJLI responded by scoring six straight points before NYU closed out the set on a kill by Emerson Evans Set 2 (NYU 25-17): The second set was competitive early with the score tied at six. NYU opened up the lead with a 7-2 scoring burst. St. Joseph's fought to keep the score close throughout the second set but the Violets pulled away late with a strong offensive and defensive performance Set 3 (NYU 25-15): SJLI took the first two points in set three before NYU answered scoring eight straight to retake the lead. After NYU pulled ahead 18-9 the Golden Eagles tried to rally bringing the score to 22-15 before NYU closed with a kill and errors on St. Joseph's Notes: St. Joseph's hit -0.044 overall (20 kills, 24 errors on 91 attempts) with one ace, 37 digs, and one total block.
