- After holding the Golden Eagles off the scoreboard in the opening inning, FDU-Florham collected an early lead with one run scored.
- St. Joseph's took the lead in the top of the second inning, with Bove doubled to right field, resulting in two runs from Ehman and Murphy.
- Bove was able to secure the third run of the second inning from Jacqueline Flannery's single to center field, taking the 3-1 jump.
- The Devils came back to pause SJLI's momentum and scored five runs across two innings to take back to lead 6-5.
- In the top of the fifth inning, Gianna Brown doubled to center field where Murphy and LaBarba scored and Amber Danz scored off a Ehman's single to tie the game back 6-6.
- FDU-Florham advanced to home on a fielder's choice in the bottom of the fifth to take back the lead for a final time, as both teams were scoreless for the rest of the game, resulting in a 7-6 victory for the Devils.
