The St. Joseph's University (L.I.) women's lacrosse powers past Maritime, 21-6, on Tuesday night.
Top performers:
- Junior Sabrina Doyle led the Golden Eagles with five goals, two assists, nine ground balls, three caused turnovers, and two draw controls.
- Junior Kaitlyn Ippolito recorded four goals, three assists, one caused turnover, and five draw controls.
- Senior Kayla Sodano also scored four goals, as well collected one assist and one ground ball.
- Senior Julia Stolba scored two goals and made one assist, three caused turnovers, and eight draw controls.
- Sophomore Taylor Metzler totaled two goals and four ground balls.
- Junior Emily Grace Passaro tallied one goal, two assists, four ground balls, four caused turnovers, and two draw controls.
- Seniors Emily Farrington and Gianna DArienzo both recorded one goal and one assist.
- Sophomore Jocelyn Forseth collected three goals and two ground balls.
How it happened:
- Maritime opened the game, scoring the first two goals of the first quarter.
- St. Joseph's responded with goals from Doyle and Metzler to tie the score 2-2.
- The Golden Eagles went on a six point scoring run to end the first quarter 8-2.
- Ippolito opened the second quarter to start the five goal streak, until the Privateers scored at 4:56.
- Stolba and Sodano scored back-to-back goals to increase SJLI's lead, and with 20 seconds left, Maritime scored once more to end the half 15-4.
- In the third quarter, St. Joseph's scored three goals to Maritime's one goal.
- Free position goals from Doyle and Ippolito raised the score to the 20 mark in the ending quarter, but right after Ippolito's goal the Privateers netted their sixth goal of the game.
- Passaro scored the final goal for the Golden Eagles to secure the second conference victory 21-6.

- St. Joseph's collected 27 ground balls, while SUNY Maritime collected 17.
- The Golden Eagles had 19 draw controls, while the Privateers had nine.
