Women's Lacrosse WIns Third Straight Game

Results:

The St. Joseph's University (L.I.) women's lacrosse wins their third straight conference game on the road against Old Westbury, 21-3, on Saturday afternoon.

How it happened:

  • St. Joseph's opened the game, scoring the first four goals of the first quarter, three from Ippolito and one from DArienzo.
  • Old Westbury netted their first goal at 9:52, in which DArienzo scored a minute later. 
  • The Golden Eagles went on a six point scoring run to end the first quarter 11-1. 
  • Fuentes and Passaro score the two goals made by SJLI in the second quarter. The Panthers scored with 31 seconds left, ending the half 13-2.  
  • Ippolito and Sodano netted the only three goals scored in the third quarter.
  • The Golden Eagles scored the first four goals of the fourth quarter,
  • Old Westbury found the back of the net on a free position goal to score their third goal of the game.
  • Doyle scored the final goal for the Golden Eagles on a free position shot to secure the third conference victory 21-3.

  • The Golden Eagles had 19 draw controls, while the Panthers had eight.
