Results:

The St. Joseph's University (L.I.) women's lacrosse downed by non conference opponent New Paltz 21-3 on the road on Saturday afternoon. 

Top performers:

  • Junior Sabrina Doyle led the Golden Eagles with two goals, three ground balls, ane one draw control.
  • Senior Julia Stolba recorded one goal, two ground balls, two caused turnovers, and five draw controls.
  • Sophomore Taylor Metzler made one assist for the Golden Eagles.
  • Junior Kaitlyn Ippolito collected four ground balls and two draw controls.
  • Senior Maggie Harding finished with 12 saves, two ground balls, and two caused turnovers.
  • The Hawks had eight players score, respectively.

How it happened:

  • New Paltz took command of the game early, scoring the first five goals of the game.
  • At 4:37, Doyle scored the first goal for the Golden Eagles.
  • The Hawk's continued to score back-to-back goals for the rest of the first quarter, taking a 10-1 lead.
  • New Paltz opened the second quarter with two goals, which SJLI answered with two goals from Doyle and Stolba.
  • The Hawks closed the second quarter scoring one more goal to end the half 13-3.
  • The third quarter was not in the Golden Eagles's favor, with having seven turnovers and one shot, while New Paltz scored three goals.
  • The Blue and Orange scored five goals in the fourth quarter, limiting St. Joseph's to three shot attempts, and taking the 21-3 victory.
