The St. Joseph's University (L.I.) baseball team opened up their trip to the Ripken Experience with a pair of wins over Plymouth State College on Thursday afternoon. The Golden Eagles walked off in extra innings with a 7-6 win in game one before claiming a 10-6 victory in game two.

The Golden Eagles scored first via a lead off home run off the bat of Lynch

The Wildcats responded in the top of the second when a lead-off walk came in to score following a double from B Flynn and an RBI ground out by Nick Healy

After Plymouth scored in the top of the third, the Golden Eagles responded with a pair of runs in the bottom half of the inning. RBI singles from Hackal and Dom Crema put SJLI ahead 3-2

Following a scoreless fourth, a two-out RBI single from Plymouth's Luke Sokolski evened the score at three. A couple of batters later, Danny Quinn homered putting the Wildcats ahead 6-3Â

Down to their final three outs, the Golden Eagles loaded bases to start the bottom of the seventh and after an RBI ground out, Ramlogan singled in DiFilippo who doubled earlier in the inning. Hackal followed up with a sac fly scoring Derek Masino tying the score, 6-6, and sending the game to extra innings

After SJLI reliever Luke Gacovino retired the Wildcats in order in the top half of the eighth, back-to-back singles started the bottom of the eighth and after a fielder's choice DiFilippo singled down the left field line bringing in Page in walk-off fashion

How it happened:

The Golden Eagles jumped out early with three runs in the opening frame. A bases-loaded walk to Lynch pushed across the first run. A fielder's choice and an RBI single from Masino were responsible for two runs

Plymouth got on the board with a home run in the bottom half of the inning

James Maggio started the second with a solo homer for a 4-1 SJLI advantageÂ

After St. Joseph's pushed a run across in the fifth, Ramlogan blasted a two-run shot in the fourth extending the lead to 7-1

The Wildcats plated three runs on four hits in the bottom half of the fourth cutting the deficit to 7-4

Back-to-back walks started the fifth setting up Joya for a two-RBI double to the left-center gap. A few batters and a pitching change later, Ramlogan singled in Joya pushing the score to 10-4

Plymouth managed to add two runs in the bottom of the sixth, but SJLI's Barlow pitched around a two-out single in the seventh to secure the 10-6 win
Next up, the Golden Eagles will face Colby-Sawyer College for a doubleheader on Friday, Mar. 15th at 12:30 PM.
