Results:

The St. Joseph's University (L.I.) baseball team wrapped up their trip to the Ripken Experience with a 5-1 win over SUNY Fredonia on Saturday morning.

Key Players:

• Sophomore Dom Crema and freshman Scott Northrop went 2-for-4 at the plate and combined for three runs scored 

• Senior Mike DiFilippo finished 2-for-3 with an RBI and a run scored 

• Senior John Lynch recorded a hit and two RBIs

How it happened:

• Fredonia got an RBI single from Domenic Hickok in the top of the second to open the scoring 

• The Golden Eagles responded with two runs in the bottom half of the second. DiFilippo drew a bases-loaded walk to push across Crema who doubled to start the inning. Two batters later Lynch worked a walk to force in Anselm Joya

• RBI doubles from Northrop and Marco Gullo in the bottom of the third put St. Joseph's ahead 4-1

• Following a scoreless fourth and fifth, Lynch singled in DiFilippo after he led off with a double to center 

Notes:

• SJLI's starter Riley Morris picked up his first win of the season allowing just one run on four hits with five strikeouts 

• Reliever CJ Rivera was credited with the save after tossing four scoreless innings with four strikeouts out of the pen

• Fredonia's Peyton Ahlstrom suffered the loss allowing four runs on five hits with five Ks

Next up, the Golden Eagles return home to host Kean University at Gregg Alfano Field on Tuesday, March 19th at 3:00 pm.
