The St. Joseph's University (L.I.) baseball team held on for an 11-9 non-conference win over Kean University at Gregg Alfano Field on Tuesday afternoon.

The Golden Eagles jumped out with an early lead scoring three runs in the bottom of the first. Hackel sent a one-out double off the right field fence and back-to-back walks to Derek Masino and Dom Crema loaded the bases. Ramlogan singled up the middle bringing in Hackal before a base hit down the left field line from Northrop knocked in Masino and Crema

Kean got on the board with a pair of runs in the top of the third, 3-2

Four runs in the bottom of the fourth gave the Golden Eagles a 7-2 advantage. Marco Gullo singled in DiFilippo who bunted for a base hit to start the inning. A sac fly scored in the second run of the inning before a two-RBI base hit to left by Ramlogan

The Cougars got one run back in the top of the fifth, but the Golden Eagles responded with three in the bottom half highlighted by a two-run home run to right off the bat of Hackal

SJLI added another run in the sixth, 11-3, but Kean continued to chip away pushing two across in the seventh

After a scoreless eighth, Kean sent eight Cougars to the plate in the top of the ninth producing four runs on five hits before SJLI reliever Dante Morabito entered striking out Phil Marcantonio for the final out of the game

SJLI reliever Charles Aurandt was credited with the win entering the game in the third after starter Jack Kelly was struck by a line drive. Aurandt allowed just one run on two hits with a pair of Ks in 3.1 innings of relief

Morabito earned his second save of the season retiring the only batter he faced

Kean's starter Mikal Goods-Min was handed the loss after allowing three runs on three hits while only recording one out
Next up, the Golden Eagles return to Gregg Alfano Field and open up Skyline Conference play when they host Mt. St. Mary College on Sunday, March 24th at 11:00 am.
