The St. Joseph's University (L.I.) baseball team added to their record-breaking win streak, now at 17, with a 22-10 non-conference win at William Paterson University on Tuesday afternoon

How it happened:

A seven-run top of the second got the scoring going for the Golden Eagles. Lynch started things with a single to center and knocked in two runs with a base hit through the left side in his second at-bat of the inning. SJLI finished with five hits and drew four walks in the frame

William Paterson got on the board in the bottom half of the second when Matthew DiGirolamo doubled in Christian Hay who singled earlier in the inning

St. Joseph's batted around again in the top of the third. Lynch knocked in two more runs before a triple from Joya brought in two more. RBIs from Crema and Mike DiFillipo capped the scoring for the inning with the visitors ahead 13-1

After adding a run in the fourth, back-to-back RBI singles from Joe Sanguedolce and Lynch had SJLI up 16-1

The Pioneers scored twice in the bottom of the fifth, but the Golden Eagles responded with four runs on three hits in the top of the sixth

The bottom of the sixth saw WPU load the bases with no outs setting up a wild pitch and sac fly to push across a pair of runs. A couple of batters later, an RBI single from Sean McAllister moved the score to 20-6

William Paterson added a pair of runs in each of the bottom of the seventh and eighth cutting their deficit in half, 20-10

RBIs from freshman Jack Russo and Joe Hackal in the top of the ninth moved the score to its final, 22-10

SJLI starter freshman Riley Morris earned his third win of the season allowing just three runs on five hits with three strikeouts in five innings

William Paterson's Nick Durso took the loss allowing seven runs on seven hits in 1.2 innings
Next up, the Golden Eagles return to Skyline Conference play when they travel to SUNY Old Westbury on Saturday, April 20th. Game times are scheduled for 11:00 am and 1:00 pm.
