The St. Joseph's University (L.I.) baseball team had their 19-game win streak snapped with a 3-0 loss in game one of a Skyline Conference doubleheader with SUNY Old Westbury on Monday afternoon. The Golden Eagles bounced back with a 9-7 win in game two.

The Panthers scored first when back-to-back SJLI defensive miscues led to a run in the bottom of the third inning

Three straight walks started the bottom of the fourth setting up a Mike Petrucelly RBI ground out to second. Mateo Martinez followed with a base hit through the left side bringing in another run chasing starter Justin Jaskolski from the game. Perri entered with two runners on getting the next two Panthers to strike out limiting further damage

Lynch and Sanguedolce's singles came in the top of the seventh but were left stranded and Old Westbury came away with the 3-0 win

Freshman Rob Page recorded a double and two walks knocking three runs while scoring three

Freshman Riley Morris was credited with the win allowing three runs on seven hits with eight strikeouts in 6.1 innings out of the penÂ

Freshman CJ Rivera earned his second save of the season striking out the only batter he faced

Four hits and a walk turned into two runs for the Panthers in the bottom of the first

Back-to-back two-RBI singles on the Old Westbury half of the third extended the lead to 6-0

The Golden Eagles batted around in the top of the fourth highlighted by the three-RBI double in the left-center gap. Mike DiFillipo drew a bases-loaded walk and an RBI single up the middle by Ramlogan inched St. Joseph's to within one, 6-5

Panther pitchers had some control issues in the top of the sixth with another bases-loaded walk this time to Lynch and two wild pitches leading to three runs and an 8-6 Golden Eagle lead

OW got a run back in the bottom half of the sixth when a sac fly to right allowed Petrucelli to score after starting the inning with a double down the right field line

SJLI added a bit of insurance in the top of the seventh when Page worked a one-out walk and came in to score on a base hit to right by Crema

After stranding a pair of runners in the bottom of the eighth, the Panthers loaded the bases with two outs in the ninth, but SJLI reliever Rivera sat Rob Manetta down swinging for the final out securing the 9-7 win
Next up, the Golden Eagles return to Gregg Alfano Field and host CCNY for a non-conference contest on Wednesday, April 24th at 3:30 pm.
