The St. Joseph's University (L.I.) baseball team took two Skyline Conference wins from Manhattanville University at Gregg Alfano Field on Saturday afternoon. The Golden Eagles picked up a 4-1 win in game one before ending the day with a 16-3 win in game two.

Junior James Maggio and sophomore Marco Gullo both finished 2-for-2 with an RBI and a run scored

Sophomore Dom Crema was 2-for-3 with an RBI

Freshmen starter Justin Jaskolski earned his first career win allowing just one run on six hits with eight strikeouts in 5.1 innings of work

Junior Dante Morabito picked up his third save of the season surrendering just one hit in 1.2 scoreless innings
How it happened:

Both sides stranded runners in the opening frame before the Golden Eagles started the scoring in the bottom of the second. Junior AJ Joya tripled in the right-center gap and came in to score on a base hit to center by sophomore Joe Hackal

The Valiants tied it up in the top of the third when Joseph McDonald drew a one-out walk and came around to score on a single through the left side by Marco Clara

Manhattanville loaded the bases in the top of the fourth, but SJLI's Jaskolski Jaskolski sat Ryan Osso down looking to end the inning. In the bottom half of the inning, sophomore Derek Masino drew a walk to start the inning and a couple of batters later Gullo was hit by a pitch putting two runners on with two outs. Maggio followed with a double down the leftfield line scoring Masino for a 2-1 lead

The Golden Eagles added some insurance with a pair of runs in the bottom of the sixth. Gullo and Maggio started the inning with singles and when a sac bunt by Hackal was thrown away, Gullo came in to score. Later in the inning, a sac fly from Crema brought in Maggio for a 4-1 final
Game two: SJLI 16; MVILLE 3 (7 inn.)

Hackal went 3-for-3 with three runs scored and three RBIs

Joya finished 2-for-3 with two doubles, an RBI, and three runs scored

Freshman Rob Page went 2-for-3 with three RBIs and a run scored

SJLI Starter Rober Wagner earned the win allowing three runs, two earned, on seven hits with four strikeouts in six innings before giving way to Riley Morris who provided one inning of scoreless relief

After the Valiants posted a run in the top of the first, the Golden Eagles responded with four in the bottom half of the inning. Hackal started the inning with a base hit to center and advanced into scoring position on a foul out down the rightfield line. After Crema drew a walk, both runners scored on Lynch's single to center. An RBI single from junior Mike DiFillipo and a double steal put SJLI ahead 4-1

Manhattanville got a run back in the top of the second when Michael Musantry led off the inning with a double to right and came into score on a fielder's choice by Braden Kunda

Maggio started the bottom of the second with a triple to right and came in on a sac fly from Hackal. Jordan Ramlogan followed with a base hit up the middle and after a couple of stolen bases scored on a wild pitchÂ

The Golden Eagles batted around in the bottom of the third for five runs on six hits extending their lead to 11-2

The hosts added a run in the fourth and a two-RBI single up the middle from freshman Rob Page moved the score to 14-3

An RBI single from Masino and an RBI double by Joya added a pair of runs in the bottom of the sixth
