The St. Joseph's University (L.I.) baseball team secured a share of the regular season title and the top seed in the Skyline Championship Tournament with a split at Farmingdale State College on Friday afternoon. After dropping game one 9-7, the Golden Eagles claimed a 5-2 victory in game two.

Sophomore Joe Hackal went 2-for-2 with a walk and two runs scored

Sophomore Dom Crema finished 2-for-3 with two RBIs and a run

Junior Jordan Ramlogan was 1-for-3 with a two-run home run
How it happened:

Hackal led off the game with a base hit to center which was followed by a two-run homer to left by Ramlogan. Crema sent a double in the left-center gap and came into score on a Farmingdale miscue a couple of batters later for a 3-0 lead

A solo home run by Chris McGuggart put the Rams on the board in the bottom of the third. Three more runs in the inning for the home team saw the lead switch hands, 4-3

Junior Mike DiFilippo evened things up in the fourth with a lead off home run to left. Crema knocked in two more runs with a double this time to the right-cent gap putting the Golden Eagles back ahead 6-4

McGuggart left the yard for the second time in the bottom half of the inning inching the Rams to within one, 6-5

A pinch-hit home run from Daniel Deutsch started the bottom of the sixth and three-consecutive doubles later in the inning pushed three more runs across for a 9-6 Farmingdale advantage

St. Joseph's loaded the bases with no outs in the seventh but only managed to push one run across for a 9-7 final
Game two: SJLI 5; Farmingdale 2
Key Players:

Ramlogan finished 3-for-5 with three stolen bases and two runs scored

Junior Anselmo Joya and freshman Rob Page both went 2-for-4 with a run

Junior Jack Kelly improved to 4-3 allowing two runs on six hits with four strikeouts

Junior Dante Morabito earned his fifth save tossing a scoreless ninth
How it happened:

Ramlogan started the top of the third with a single to left and moved to third after a stolen base and a wild pitch. Crema followed with a walk but was erased by a double play that allowed Ramlogan to score. Joya doubled and then came in on a triple by senior Joe Sanguedolce

An RBI double by Tyler DiRocco put the Rams on the board in the bottom of the fourth

A costly error in the top of the seventh allowed for three runs and a 5-1 Golden Eagle lead

Farmingdale got a run back in the home half of the seventh but only managed one base runner in the final two innings for a 5-2 final
Next up, the Golden Eagles wrap up the regular season when they host the University of Mt. St. Vincent on Saturday, May 4th at 11:00 am.
