The St. Joseph's University (L.I.) baseball team claimed the Skyline Conference regular season title for the third straight year with a pair of wins against the University of Mt. St. Vincent at Gregg Alfano Field on Saturday afternoon. The Golden Eagles walked off with a 2-1 win in game one before a 13-1 win in game two.

How it happened:

Hackal led off the game with a base hit to center and quickly was standing on third when a failed pick off attempt went into right field. Junior Jordan Ramlogan grounded out to the right side allowing Hackal to score the first run of the game

The Dolphins promptly answered back with a run in the top of the second. Drew Knight was hit by a pitch to start the inning and came around to score on a base hit up the middle a couple of batters later

Manger and UMSV starter Aiden Cardenas went on to put up zeros on the scoreboard until the bottom of the seventh when Lynch tripled off the wall in right-center and a wild throw on the relay went out of play forcing him home and walking the Golden Eagles off with a 2-1 win
Game two: SJLI 1; Mt. St. Vincent 1

Maggio finished 2-for-4 with a grand slam, five RBIs and two runs scored

Freshman Joe Thatcher went 2-for-4 with three RBIs and two runs

Junior Anselmo Joya was 2-for-2 with a walk and two runs

Freshman Justin Jaskolski earned the win improving to 2-1 on the season allowing just one run on six hits with four strikeouts
How it happened:

The Dolphins scored first with a run in the opening frame. Dom Porto led off the game with a single to center and came in to score on a base hit through the left side later in the inning

St. Joseph's evened the score in the bottom of the third. Maggio started the inning with a hit to right and the Golden Eagles would go on to load the bases setting up a sacrifice fly from JoyaÂ

All nine Golden Eagles stepped into the box in the bottom of the sixth stringing together five hits for five runs. Thatcher, Rob Page, Mike DiFilippo all had RBIs, 6-1

A fielder's choice, a two-RBI double from Thatcher and a grand slam by Maggio added seven runs for the Golden Eagles ending the game at 13-1
