Men's Golf Opens Season with Second Place Finish

When and Where:

September 13, 2024 – Bellport, NY/ Bellport Country Club

Result:

The St. Joseph's University, New York (L.I.) men's golf team opened their season on Friday, taking second place at the St. Joseph's University TriMatch.

Top performers:

Junior Nick Gentile led the Golden Eagles, finishing in first place with a final score of 77 (+6)
Freshman Chase Zere took third place with a score of 81 (+10)
Freshman Chris Fioto tied for ninth overall, scoring an 87 (+16)
Sophomore Dominick Glatz totaled a 93 (+22) and captured 11th place

How it happened:

The Golden Eagles secured second place with a final team score of 338 (+54), just 10 strokes behind Mount Saint Mary (NY), who took home first place as a team with a score of 328 (+44)
Mt. St. Vincent took third place with a final score of 370 (+86)

Notes:

Sophomore Michael Welton competed, taking 14th place with a score of 104 (+33)
