Photos by Alan J Schaefer Men's Golf Captures Third at Skyline Championship 9/30/2024 7:19:00 PM When and Where: September 30, 2024 – Bethpage, NY / Bethpage State Park (Red) Result: The St. Joseph's University, New York (L.I.) men's golf team finished third overall at the Skyline Championships on the tournament's final day. Top performers: Junior Bailey Meyer led the Golden Eagles, finishing in 11th place, scoring 159 (+19) with an 80 on day one and a 79 on day two Freshman Chase Zere, Sophomore Dominick Glatz, and junior Nick Gentille all finished in 17th place, shooting 165 (+25) How it happened: The Golden Eagles finished day one in fourth place as a team and rallied back to finish in third with a team score of 654 (+94), one stroke ahead of Old Westbury, who scored 655 (+95) Farmingdale State captured first place with a strong score of 582 (+22), with Mt. St. Mary's securing second place 630 (+70) Yeshiva took fifth place at 661 (+101), Manhattanville landed in sixth place at 664 (+104), Purchase ended in seventh place at 688 (+128), and Mt. St. Vincent took eighth place 701 (+141) Notes: Freshman Luke Doucet ended the two-day event in 35th place with a score of 186 (+46) Up Next: The Golden Eagles return to action on Monday, October 7th, when they travel to White Plains, NY (Maple Morr Golf Course) for the UMSV Skyline Invitational at 1:00 pm.
