The St. Joseph's University, New York (L.I.) men's and women's cross country teams hosts the SJNY Invitational on Saturday morning. The men's team placed first overall, while the women's team earned an 13th place finish in the 5k race, fifth-place among the eight conference schools.
Top Performers:

- Ryan Steinberg ran a 8k time of 28:27.7 (5:43 pace) to place third overall, leading the Golden Eagles land in the first place spot.
- Ren Seubert finished ninth place (29:27.9), followed by Evan Skoblicki in 11th (27:44.6).
- Jimmy Mintel clocked 30:02.4 for 14th, and Brayden Clements rounded out the scoring five in 22nd (30:53.5).
- The team averaged 29:40 per runner (5:58 pace) across its top five finishers.
- Women:
- Elizabeth Kurka paced the Golden Eagles with a 13th-place finish in 21:59.3 (7:04 pace).
- Madison Mattera (48th, 25:25.6) and Giselle Estrada-Kinderman (65th, 26:16.6) provided key mid-pack results.
- Evangeline Pierre-Louis (101st, 29:11.3) and Jolie Ferreiro (118th, 30:07.1) completed the scoring lineup.
- The women averaged 26:35 per runner (8:33 pace).
How it Happened:
- Steinberg's performance set the tone for St. Joseph's, helping the team finish first overall.
- Consistent support from Skoblicki, Mintel, and Seubert kept the Golden Eagles within striking distance of Division II and III opponents.
- On the women's side, Kurka's breakout run led the way, shying away from her personal best.
- Both teams demonstrated steady improvement and depth midway through the fall campaign.
