The fifth-seeded St. Joseph's University (L.I.) women's basketball team saw its season come to an end with a 53-41 loss at #4 Farmingdale State College in the Skyline Conference Championship Tournament first round on Tuesday evening.

How it happened:

The Golden Eagles had their best scoring run of the game in the first quarter with five straight points from Sierra followed by three from Spina giving SJLI its first lead of the game, 12-9, with 4:37 left in the frame

Farmingdale closed out the quarter on a 6-2 run with all six points coming from Shyann Parker and took a slight 15-14 lead into the second

The Rams held the Golden Eagles scoreless through the first three minutes of the second quarter, but Sierra dropped in back-to-back threes followed by a layup from Spina game St. Joseph's a slight 22-19 lead midway through the frame

But a strong finish by the Rams, 10-2, sent the hosts into the break leading 29-24

After trailing by as many as eight in the third, five points from Sierra inched the Golden Eagles to within one, 34-33, at the 3:23 mark

Farmingdale answered with five straight to hold a 39-33 advantage heading into the final frame

FSC's lead hit double figures, 46-36, via seven unanswered points from Walbroehl

Spina cut the deficit to six, 46-39, with just over six minutes left to play, but the Rams outscored the Golden Eagles 7-2 down the stretch and came away with the 53-41 win
