Barone Makes Women's Basketball First-Team All-Conference

New York, NY | Sophomore Madelyn Barone of the St. Joseph's University-New York (L.I.) women's basketball team was named to the Skyline All-Conference First-Team as announced by the conference Tuesday afternoon.
 

Barone led the Golden Eagles this season, totaling 365 points, averaging 15.2 points per game, good for a seventh-place finish in the conference. The forward posted a top-five finish in the conference in free throw percentage at 77.0% and a top-10 finish in field goal percentage at 37.5%. The Farmingville, NY native recorded 132 rebounds (5.5 rpg), 46 assists (1.9 apg), 47 steals (1.9 spg), and 11 blocks (0.4 bpg), all good for top 20 finishes in the conference.


This season, the sophomore had her career-best 26 points, on two separate occasions. She went on to score 20+ points in five different matchups and posted two double-doubles this season. She was named to Skyline Conference Weekly Honor Roll three times this season.
 

The five-seeded Golden Eagles will travel to take on the four-seeded Farmingdale State College in the Skyline Conference First Round on Wednesday, February 25th at 5:00 pm.
