The St. Joseph's University, New York (L.I.) baseball team split a pair of non-conference games with McDaniel College on day one at the Ripken Experience. The Golden Eagles came away with a 10-8 win in game one before falling in game two 6-4.
Game one: SJLI 10; McDaniel 8

Senior Jordan Ramlogan went 2-for-4 with a double, three RBIs, and two runs scored

How it happened:

LaFroscia put the Golden Eagles on the board with his two-run blast over the right-field fence in the bottom of the first

After McDaniel got a run back in the third, the Green Terror took the lead with an RBI double by Ben Davis and a sac fly from Joey Hubinger in the top of the fourth, 3-2

That lead was short-lived when a three-RBI double to left by Ramlogan and an RBI single to center put St. Joseph's ahead 6-3 in the bottom half of the fourth

An RBI single from Gullo added a run in the bottom of the fifth, 7-3

Three hits and a McDaniel error led to a three-run bottom of the sixth putting the Golden Eagles ahead 10-3

The Green Terror did not go down easy, Shea McKenna sent a bases-loaded triple to center and scored on an SJLI miscue closing the gap to 10-3. McDaniel added another run on an RBI hit to center by DJ Stobla before reliever Charles Aurandt got Anthony Cerone to fly out to left to end the game, 10-8
Game two: SJLI 4; McDaniel 6

Junior Joe Thatcher went 4-for-4 with a double and a run scored

How it happened:

The Golden Eagles scored first in game two when Ramlogan led off with a double and then came in to score on a ground out to short three batters later

McDaniel took the lead when a couple of hits and three St. Joseph's errors pushed three runs across in the bottom of the third, 3-1
-
A double steal in the top of the fourth scored Thatcher who started the inning with a base hit to center. Later in the inning, Joya was brought home on a sac fly by James Maggio, 3-3

A two-run home run from McDaniel's Maximus Mullins in the bottom half of the fourth put the Green Terror back on top, 5-3
-
The Golden Eagles got to within one when Ramlogan started the fifth with a triple and came in to score on a bunt by Joe Hackal, 5-4

McDaniel added an insurance run via the sac fly from Hubinger in the sixth, 6-4

St. Joseph's made some noise in the top of the seventh with a single from Thatcher and a double by Joya put runners on second and third with two outs, but McDaniel's reliever Conor Henderson got LaFroscia to fly out to center and end the game
Next up, the Golden Eagles take on Western Connecticut State for a doubleheader at the Ripken Experience in Myrtle Beach, SC. Game one is slated to start at 9:00 am.
