Game one: SJLI 5; Ramapo, 8

Key Players:

How it happened:

  • Ramapo scored first with a run in the bottom of the third. That lead was erased when the Golden Eagles plated three in the top of the fifth. Maggio and Marco Gullo singled before Dom Crema was hit by a pitch to load the bases for Lynch, who knocked all three in for a 3-1 advantage

  • The Roadrunners quickly responded with four runs in the bottom half of the fifth to regain the lead, 5-3. An RBI double from Jesse Swartout knocked in Zack Baily and Dominick Ciani, who had singled and walked earlier in the inning. A, SJLI defensive miscue brought Matt Lalomia home before an RBI double from John Higgins capped the scoring

  • Gullo knocked in two runs with a double to tie up 5-5 in the top of the sixth, but a three-RBI triple from Ramapo's Zach Novakowski in the bottom half of the inning put the hosts back ahead, 8-5

  • The Golden Eagles stranded a couple of runners in the eighth and retired in order in the ninth

Notes:

  • Ramapo's Ryan Lasko earned the win out of the pen, allowing two runs on five hits

  • SJLI's Christopher Perri was credited with the loss, surrendering six runs on three hits in an inning of relief
