The St. Joseph's University, New York (L.I.) baseball team squeaked out a pair of Skyline Conference wins at Manhattanville University on Saturday afternoon. The Golden Eagles came out on top of a 5-3 11 inning affair in game one before holding on to a 6-5 win in game two.

The Golden Eagles scored first when Gullo knocked in Ramlogan, who singled to start the game in the top of the first

St. Joseph's added to their lead when Joya homered to left in the top of the fourth, 2-0

Down to their final two outs, the Valiants tied the game with two runs in the bottom of the seventh. Anthony Caputo doubled and then came in to score on a hit to left by Joseph McDonald. Joshua Gillison singled to left center to knock in Brian Brezosky, sending the game into extra innings

After three scoreless innings, the Golden Eagles broke through with three runs in the top of the 11th. John Lynch drew a walk to start the inning and was lifted by a pinch runner, Lucas Quinlan. A wild pitch moved him up 90 feet, and a double to right by Thatcher put runners in scoring position with no outs. After Joya was intentionally walked to load the bases, Crema singled off the shortstop's glove, bringing in Thatcher and Quinlan, 4-2. An infield single from Mike DiFilippo scored Joya to cap the scoring, 5-2

A sac fly in the bottom of the 11th gave Manhattanville some life, but Tyler Cooney got CJ Archul swinging to end the game

The Golden Eagles scored first again in game two. A two-out double by Thatcher was followed by a two-run home run to right by Lynch

The Valiants got a run back in the bottom of the second when McDonald singled in Mike AmbrosecchiaÂ

After the Golden Eagles added a run in the top of the fifth, the Manhattanville sent seven Valiants to the plate in the bottom of the sixth, producing three runs to tie the score, 3-3

Maggio worked a walk to start the seventh and stole both second and third to set up an RBI single from Crema, 4-3. Later in the inning, the Golden Eagles loaded the bases, where a single to left by Hackal knocked in two more runs, 6-3

Manhattanville did not go down easy in the bottom half of the seventh. RBIs from Ambrosecchia and Jackson Branigan inched the Valiants to within one, 6-5, but SJLI's Morris got Justin Encarnacion swinging to end the game
