Results:
The St. Joseph's University, New York (L.I.) baseball team split a pair of non-conference games with Keene State College on Saturday afternoon. The Golden Eagles claimed a 5-3 victory in game one before getting shut out 12-0 in game two.
Game One: SJLI 5; Keene State 3
Key Players:
- Junior Marco Gullo went 3-for-3 at the plate with an RBI and a run scored
- Senior James Maggio collected two hits including a double with an RBI and a run scored
- Senior Anselmo Joya went 1-for-2 with a double and two runs scored
- Graduate Student John Lynch homered to right field
- Otis Follet recorded two hits on three at-bats and drove in a run for Keene State
- Evan McCue went 2-for-4 with an RBI and a run scored
- Graduate Student Peter Manger picked up his first win of the year and senior Dante Morabito recorded his first save of 2025
How it happened:
- Keene State took a 1-0 lead in the first inning on an RBI single to center for McCue that drove in Evan Cali
- Lynch led off the second inning with a home run off the right field foul pole to tie the game at one
- St. Joseph's took a 2-1 lead in the third on an RBI single up the middle for senior Jordan Ramlogan that scored Gullo
- Joya and Maggio hit back-to-back doubles in the fourth inning, with Maggio's two-bagger bringing home Joya to increase the lead to 3-1
- In the sixth, Follet singled to left field to score a run for the visitors, which cut the deficit to 3-2
- The Golden Eagles scored two runs in the bottom of the sixth, as Gullo knocked in Joya with a single to left field and senior Joe Thatcher lifted a sacrifice fly to center to plate Maggio
- The Owls scored once more in the seventh on an error to make it a 5-3 game

Game Two: SJLI 0; Keene State 12
Key Players:
- Junior Don Crema went 1-for-3 with a walk
- Junior Dom LaFroscia and junior Joe Hackal each collected a hit for the Golden Eagles
- McCue went 3-for-5 with three doubles and eight RBIs to lead the Owls
- Domminic Tagliaferro hit a double and collected two RBIs and two runs scored
- Tommy Ahlers recorded three hits and an RBI
- Camden Thomas threw four and one-third scoreless and hitless innings in relief to earn the win for Keene State
How it happened:
- McCue delivered a two-run double with two outs in the third inning to give the Owls a 2-0 lead
- Keene State scored three runs in the seventh on a two-run double for McCue and an RBI single for Ahlers to increase the lead to 5-0
- Cali and McCue each drew bases-loaded walks in the eighth which forced in the Owls' sixth and seventh runs of the game
- Keene State added five insurance runs in the ninth inning, as Tagliaferro doubled to left-center to bring home two runs. With two outs in the frame, McCue hit a bases-clearing double to right field for his third double of the game to bring home three runs to extend the lead to 12-0
Next up, the Golden Eagles host Kean University on Sunday, March 16 for a non-conference match-up at Gregg Alfano Field at 12:00pm.
