Game One: SJLI 9, Purchase 1

Key Players:

• Junior Antonia Busa led the Golden Eagles with two hits, three RBIs, and one run scored
• Freshman Angelina DeLuca secured one hit and three runs scored
• Senior Julia Ruocchio finished with one hit, two runs scored, and two RBIs
• Junior Brook Bove provided two hits and two runs batted in
• Sophomore Jacqueline Flannery secured two hits and two runs scored
• Junior Katelyn Lysogorski pitched all five innings, allowing one run scored on just five hits

How it happened:

• After the Golden Eagles shut out the Panthers in the top of the first inning, Flannery led off the bottom half of the inning, setting up a LaBarba groundout to bring in the first run
• As Ruocchio and DeLuca got on base in the first inning, as well as a Bove single to right field, brought home another two runs to score to help SJLI capture a 3-0 lead
• St. Joseph's would add to their lead in the second inning, securing three runs on four hits, highlighted by a two-RBI single to right center field that saw Flannery and Lysgorski score
• The Panthers would score their first run of the game on a double down the left field line that would shrink the SJLI lead to five (6-1) in the top of the third
• A Busa double to left center brought home DeLuca to score, followed by a Ruocchio RBI triple to right field, as a LaBarba sacrifice fly to center field brought home Ruocchio moments later to take a 9-1 advantage 
• St. Joseph's held off Purchase in the final inning to take game one

Game two: SJLI 1, Purchase 5

Key Players:

• Flannery was 2-4 at the plate
• Senior Emily Fenezia was 1-1 with a triple and scored one run
• Junior Kimberly Ehman added one hit and one RBI

How it happened:

• After neither team scored in the first inning, the Panthers found the scoreboard first, collecting two runs on one hit in the top of the second inning
• Purchase again would add to their lead in the top of the fifth inning, adding two runs scored on just two hits, highlighted by an RBI single through the left side to make it a 4-0 game
• The Panthers would score an additional run in the top of the seventh inning when runners would advance on a passed ball
• Fenezia led off for the Golden Eagles in the bottom of the seventh inning with a triple to left center that set up an Ehman RBI single to cut the deficit to just four (5-1)
• The Golden Eagles' comeback would fall short as the Panthers' defense closed out the game two with a victory
