Key Players:
How it happened:
-
After a quiet first couple of innings, the Golden Eagles broke through with a run in the top of the third. Back-to-back singles from Crema and Page started the frame, but Crema was erased when the Ducks made the force play at third on Hackal's sacrifice attempt. Ramlogan followed with a base hit to left, allowing Page to score from second, 1-0
-
Stevens responded quickly with a run in the bottom half of the inning when a failed pick-off attempt allowed Victor Schilleci, who was hit by a pitch earlier in the inning, to score, 1-1
-
St. Joseph's regained the lead in the top of the fifth when Hackal singled to right, advanced to second on a failed pick-off attempt, and then scored when he stole third and the throw went into left, 2-1
-
But again, the Ducks answered in the bottom half of the inning when Jack Reichlin hit a two-out grand slam, 5-2
-
An RBI double by Schilleci in the bottom of the sixth put the hosts ahead, 6-2, before a three-RBI triple by Eli Somers in the bottom of the seventh put the game out of reach for the Golden Eagles, 9-2
Notes:

A staff day saw six pitchers on the mound for both teams
-
Senior Charles Aurandt started for the Golden Eagles, allowing just two hits with three strikeouts in two innings
-
Sophomore Riley Morris was credited with the loss
