How it happened:

A solo shot to right by Eli Somers put the Ducks on the board in the top of the first

SJLI responded with four runs on a pair of doubles and a triple in the bottom half of the inning, 4-1

Stevens quickly answered with a three-run top of the second, but the Golden Eagles took advantage of a Stevens' defensive miscue to regain the lead, 5-4

An RBI base hit up the middle by Aaron Wong in the top of the third tied the score at 5-5

John Lynch scorched a ball off the first baseman, scoring Derek Masino, who walked to start the bottom of the fourth. Thatcher followed with a three-run home run over the left field fence, 9-5

After the Ducks added a run in the fifth and two more in the sixth, 9-8, three hits in the bottom of the sixth resulted in a pair of runs, 11-8

Stevens batted around in the top of the seventh for four runs, taking their first lead since the first inning, 12-11
