How It Happened
- Farmingdale State jumped out to a fast start, using transition offense and perimeter shooting to build a commanding 46–24 halftime lead.
- The Rams shot over 54 percent in the first half and knocked down six three-pointers, capitalizing on turnovers to stretch the margin past 20 points late in the period.
- St. Joseph's responded with a much stronger second half, shooting 60 percent from the field and outscoring Farmingdale 50–39 after the break.
- Early in the second half, the Golden Eagles put together a run fueled by baskets from Gaston, Rodriguez and AJ Esposito, trimming the deficit to just 15 just five minutes into the second half
- Despite the surge, Farmingdale answered with timely three-pointers and fast-break points to maintain control and keep SJLI from closing the gap to single digits.
- Kubelka caught fire late, drilling four threes in the final minutes as SJLI continued to fight until the final horn
