How It Happened:
- Stevens struck early and never trailed, plating two runs in the opening frame on a pair of sacrifice flies to take a 2-0 lead.
- After St. Joseph's answered with a run in the second on an RBI double from Margolies, Stevens responded with a three-run third inning and added three more in the fourth, highlighted by a three-run home run from Griffin Zitko, to build an 8-1 advantage.
- The Golden Eagles chipped away throughout the middle innings; Shortell drove in a run with a groundout in the fourth before a big fifth inning brought St. Joseph's back into the game.
- Thatcher delivered an RBI single, Shortell added another RBI on a fielder's choice, and Andrew Amarando came home on an interference play to cut the deficit to 9-5.
- Thatcher continued his strong day at the plate in the sixth, blasting a solo home run to left field to make it 9-6. St. Joseph's threatened to climb closer, but the Stevens bullpen held the line over the final three innings.
