Bronx, NY| The St. Joseph's College (L.I.) softball team extended its unbeaten streak to seven games with a sweep of Skyline Conference rival Yeshiva University, 13-1 and ____, at Fordham University on Wednesday evening.

With the win the Golden Eagles improve to 9-7 on the year and remain perfect on conference play (6-0) as the Maccabees 2-9 (0-7 Skyline).

St. Joseph's scored early and often in game one and posted a five-spot in the first inning, beginning with a Kristen Arbiter (2-for-4) RBI double.

Up 6-0 in the top of the third, SJC tacked on three more runs via a Madeline Sganga (2-for-2) RBI single, a Yeshiva error and an Arbiter RBI single to short.

Ashley Accardi's (1-for-1) two-run homer in the top of the fifth capped the guests' scoring, and in the bottom of the fifth Yeshiva posted its only run of the game when Ellsa Alwels doubled to left center.

SJC totaled 15 hits in the contest and were paced by multi-hit performers Ashley Steponaitis (2-for-3), Elizabeth Rohme (2-for-3), Valerie Scura (2-for-3), Sganga and Arbiter.

Nicole Baron (1-0) was handed the start for the Golden Eagles and fanned four batters in four innings of work. Ashley Blydenburgh provided relief and struck out two in the fifth.

After scoring six runs in the first, Camella Femoyer (2-for-3) opened a seven-run second with a two-RBI single to left field that scored Gabrielle Cinquemani (2-for-3) and Accardi (2-for-3).

Three more runs in the third made way for Samantha Magerovich (3-for-4) to homer in the top of the fifth prior to Elise Grau's (3-for-4) RBI double to right field which wrapped SJC's scoring for the evening.

Sandra Foster (2-1) earned the start for SJC and struck out nine batters and allowed three hits in a complete-game effort.

The Golden Eagles return to action on Saturday, April 8 when they visit Skyline Conference rival Farmingdale State for a doubleheader a 1:00 pm. Live stats will be available here.
