Farmingdale, NY| Senior Mike Harris scored a career-best 16 points in the St. Joseph's College (L.I.) men's basketball team's 68-63 defeat at Farmingdale State College on Wednesday evening.

The loss sends the Golden Eagles to 4-18 (4-13 Skyline) on the season as the Rams improve to 15-7 overall and 13-4 in conference play.

Harris' 16 points came on 6-for-12 shooting from the field and 4-for-4 shooting from the charity stripe. Also scoring in double figures was senior Trey Kinard, who contributed 10 points (3-for-9 FG) and five rebounds.

Senior Isaiah Moore went for eight points and a team-high seven boards.

Farmingdale's George Riefenstahl led all players with 17 points and 13 rebounds.

In a game that saw nine lead changes and eight ties, SJC jumped out to a 5-2 lead inside the game's first two minutes and later, with 7:56 left in the first half, held a 19-17 advantage.

The Rams went on to score 19 or the half's final 27 points to take a 36-27 lead into the break, but a possessed St. Joseph's side rallied through the first 12 minutes of the second and took a 54-52 lead when senior Jarred Marrow converted on a layup with 8:18 to play in regulation.

Senior Stephen Cohen's three-ball restored the Golden Eagles' two-point lead (59-57) three and half minutes later, but the hosts scored nine of the game's final 13 points to clinch a 68-63 victory.

Despite holding an edge from beyond the arc (29.2% to 25.0%), SJC was outshot 39.6% to 35.5% from the field.

The Golden Eagles return to action on Saturday, February 10 when they visit Skyline Conference rival SUNY Purchase. Tip-off is set for 12:00 pm.
