Farmingdale, NY| Despite scoring four players in double digits the St. Joseph's College (L.I.) men's basketball team dropped a Skyline Conference contest, 95-80, to Farmingdale State College on Wednesday evening.

With the loss, the Golden Eagles slip to 5-17 overall and 4-13 in Skyline action as the Rams improve to 15-7 (13-4 Skyline).

Junior Brad Weiss matched a career-best with a team-high 18 points on 7-for-13 shooting from the field. The center also grabbed a team-high seven rebounds and was credited with four blocks.

Senior Mike Harris went for 17 points on 6-for-8 shooting, while junior Frank Basile (5-for-14 FG) and freshman Matthew Hirdt (5-for-10 FG) contributed 14 points apiece.

Freshman Gino Basile scored a career-best seven points off the bench and junior Doug Niblock went for six points and five assists.

The Rams were powered by Ali Mableton, who scored a game-high 21 points on 9-for-12 shooting.

SJC led a handful of times in the first half and as late as 10:01 when Weiss' layup out the guests up 17-15. Farmingdale's Matthew Graham sank a three-ball with the next possession, giving the Rams an 18-17 lead and set the tone for the rest of the half.

Trailing 37-30 at the half, SJC came as close as five points (65-60), but could not overcome its halftime deficit.

Both teams shot well from the field but the Rams held a 50.0% to 47.5% advantage. Farmingdale was also the better team in the paint, where it outscored SJC 57-29.

The Golden Eagles return to action on Saturday, February 9 when they visit SUNY Purchase for a Skyline Conference contest at 2:00 pm.
