Patchogue, NY| The St. Joseph's College (L.I.) softball team extended its winning streak to six games on Saturday with a pair of Skyline Conference victories, 8-3 and 10-2, over SUNY Old Westbury at SJC Softball Stadium.

The wins see the Golden Eagles improve to 11-10 overall on the year and 6-4 in conference play as the Panthers drop to 0-16 and 0-4.

Game 1: SJC 8, OW 3
A four-run first inning was kicked off by Riley Lim-Ellis' (3-for-3) RBI single to right field. Julia Ruocchio (1-for-3) would score Lim-Ellis with an RBI double, while Victoria Iavarone (2-for-4) sent Ruocchio home with an RBI single. 

Emily Fenezia (1-for-4) wrapped the inning's scoring with an RBI single of her own to center field. 

Lauren Crawford (1-for-4) extended the SJC lead in the second (RBI single), but the Panthers brought two runs back in the top of the third (5-2).

After a two-run fourth and an insurance marker via Linday Ness' (3-for-3) sacrifice in the fifth inning (8-2), SJC held off the guests for an 8-3 victory.

Patricia McGloin (W, 4-3) fanned a season-best nine batters and allowed three earned runs in 5.2 innings on the mound. Alex Tenety struck out two batters in 1.1 innings of relief.

Game 2: SJC 10, OW 2 (5 innings)
Following a three-run first inning, SJC doubled its lead in the bottom of the third (6-0). Lim-Ellis (1-for-2) and Ruocchio (1-for-1) posted RBI singles and Jenna Kreiling (1-for-2) scored Iavarone (1-for-3) with an RBI double to left field.

Ness (3-for-3) scored Jenna DeFina (3-for-3) in the bottom of the fourth and made way for Ruocchio to send Crawford (1-for-4) home to extend the lead to eight runs (8-0).

After a two-run fifth for the guests, Kate Kiernan (1-for-1) ended the contest with a two-RBI single up the middle that scored DeFina and Kreiling (10-2). 

Olivia Verderosa (W, 5-2) was credited with five strikeouts in a complete-game effort on the mound. 

The Golden Eagles return to action on Saturday, April 23, when they host Sarah Lawrence for a Skyline Conference doubleheader at 12:00 pm.
