The St. Joseph's University (L.I.) baseball team snapped a four-game losing skid with an 18-2 non-conference win over CCNY at Gregg Alfano Field on Senior Day on Wednesday afternoon.

Key Players:

• Seniors Paul Gugliuzzo and John Lynce went 2-for-3 with two runs scored and an RBI

• Senior Phil Krpata was 1-for-2 with a home run, three RBIs and two runs scored

• Sophomore Brandon Eising went 3-for-3 with two runs and an RBI

• Freshman Derek Masino finished 2-for-2 with a run scored

How it happened:

• The Golden Eagles batted around for eight runs on five hits in the bottom of the first highlighted by Krpata's three-run home run 

• Another four hits including doubles from Jake Giannico, Lynch, and Masino, produced three more runs in the second for an 11-0 SJLI lead

• CCNY got on the board when Ethan Angress singled to start the top of the third and came into score on a groundout 

• St. Joseph's responded with RBIs from Joe Sanguedolce and Michael DiFilippo in the bottom half of the third

• After another two SJLI runs crossed in the bottom of the fifth, CCNY's Victor Murra Schott started the top of the six with a solo home run to left, 15-2

• The Golden Eagles capped the scoring with three runs in the seventh and secured the 18-2 win

Notes:

• SJLI's starter senior Jared West picked up his first career win by surrendering just one hit with three strikeouts in two innings of work

• CCNY's Ismael Jimenez was handed the loss allowing eight runs on five hits
