How it happened:

• The game started with Franciscan's two first batters getting on base, followed by a two-RBI double to right-center; a few moments later, a ground out to shortstop saw another run come into score and take a 3-0 lead
• In the bottom half of the first inning, the Golden Eagles had runners in scoring position when Kiernan singled through the left side, allowing two runs to come home and score; LaBarba would then blast one over the left field wall for a three-run home run taking back the lead 5-3
• Franciscan would answer back in the top of the second inning when Davis had runners in scoring position and singled down the right field line to bring into two runs to score, tying the game at five
• Samantha Dimezza propelled SJLI ahead again in the bottom of the third, singling to shortstop, bringing home Kiernan and Salvatto to score
• At the start of the bottom of the fourth inning, Emily Fenezia and Flannery got on base, leading to Julia Ruocchio and Salvatto driving in the runs to score, taking a 9-5 lead
• The bottom of the sixth saw the last run of the game score when LaBarba reached first on an error, letting Salvatto score, securing the 10-5 victory for SJLI
