The St. Joseph's University (L.I.) women's lacrosse team started their 2024 Skyline Conference schedule with a 19-4 win at SUNY Old Westbury on Saturday afternoon.

Top performers:

• Senior Jamie Trowbridge led the Golden Eagles with seven points on four goals and three assists with four ground balls and a game-best eight draw controls

• Senior Kayleigh Mimnaugh recorded a game-high five goals

• Junior Emily O'Mara totaled four points on three assists and a goal and finished with game-highs five ground balls and four caused turnovers

How it happened:

• St. Joseph's led early when Trowbridge dished to Emma Lange for the game's first goal just 33 seconds into play

• The Golden Eagles continued momentum with six unanswered goals ending the first frame ahead 7-0

• SJLI continued the shutout through the second quarter while adding four additional goals and headed into halftime leading 11-0

• The Panthers managed a man-up goal early in the third quarter but was followed by five more SJLI scores pushing the game to 16-1

• Both sides found the back of the net three times in the fourth for a 19-4 final

Notes:

• SJLI goalie Maggie Harding got the win with one save before giving way Alana Downey for the second half. OW's Kathleen Mackey recorded 10 saves

• St. Joseph's outshot Old Westbury 42-7

• The Golden Eagles collected 31 ground balls with the Lions finishing with nine

• SJLI was a perfect 15-for-15 on clears while the Lion went 10-25
