Erin Hadnagy Appointed Women's Lacrosse Head Coach

PATCHOGUE, N.Y. – St. Joseph's University, New York (L.I.) Executive Director of Athletics Melody Cope announced on Monday the hiring of Erin Hadnagy as the new head coach of the women's lacrosse program, bringing a decade of Division III coaching and administrative experience to the Golden Eagles.

No stranger to the Skyline Conference, Hadnagy most recently served as an assistant women's lacrosse coach at Farmingdale State College beginning in 2022, where she assisted in all aspects of the program, including recruiting, player development, scouting, practice planning, and game preparation while helping the Rams continue their success within the conference.

"We are excited to welcome Erin to St. Joseph's and our Golden Eagles family," said Cope. "Erin brings extensive coaching and administrative experience, along with a strong commitment to student-athlete development and creating a positive team culture. Her leadership, knowledge of the game, and familiarity with the Skyline Conference make her a tremendous fit for our women's lacrosse program, and we are excited for the future under her direction."

Before joining Farmingdale State, Hadnagy spent five seasons as head women's lacrosse coach at Mount Saint Vincent, where she oversaw all aspects of the program, including recruiting, scheduling, budgeting, fundraising, alumni engagement, and student-athlete development. During her tenure, she was responsible for building and leading the program while emphasizing academic achievement, leadership development, and competitive success.

In addition to her coaching responsibilities, Hadnagy also served as Assistant Athletic Director and Budget Manager at Mount Saint Vincent, gaining extensive experience in athletics administration, compliance, budgeting, event management, and departmental operations.

A former standout student-athlete at the University of Maryland, Hadnagy earned a bachelor's degree in Sociology/Family Science before later completing her Master of Business Administration. During her playing career, she was a member of two NCAA Division I Women's Lacrosse National Championship teams in 2014 and 2015.

"I'm excited to join the St. Joseph's Long Island family and begin this next chapter as a Golden Eagle," said Hadnagy. "I can't wait to get to work with our student-athletes, build a strong team culture, and help our players grow both on and off the field."
