A Great Night at Gregg Alfano Field: Golden Eagles Team Up with League of YES

Patchogue, NY | The St. Joseph's University, New York (L.I.) baseball team partnered with the League of YES on Friday, September 26, for a special evening of skills, drills, and a game under the lights at Gregg Alfano Field.

Back in late September, on a cool Friday evening, the St. Joseph's Long Island baseball team hosted athletes from the League of YES at Gregg Alfano Field. The lights came on around 6 p.m., and everyone got right into it with skills and drills—our guys working side-by-side with the League players, showing tips on hitting, throwing, and fielding, and handing out tons of high fives and encouragement.

Once the drills wrapped up, they played a full game under the lights. It was all about fun—cheers for every hit, every run scored, and plenty of laughs along the way. Players from both sides buddied up, and you could tell everyone was just loving being out there playing ball.

"Hosting the League of YES was one of the highlights of our fall. Watching our players coach, encourage, and just have fun with everyone out there reminded us all what baseball is really about—bringing people together and sharing the game we love. It was a great night for the Golden Eagles, and we're already looking forward to doing it again."
– Tom Caputo, Head Baseball Coach

The League of YES is all about giving people with disabilities a shot at playing baseball, and our team was pumped to help make that happen. Nights like this remind us why we love the game—it's about bringing people together and sharing the fun.
