New York, NY| The St. Joseph's University (L.I.) baseball team placed third in the 2026 Skyline Conference's preseason coaches poll. The softball team tied for fifth place in their preseason coaches poll.
 
SJLI baseball received 81 total points. USMMA placed first with 96 total points and received seven first place votes. Farmingdale St. finished second with a total of 93 points with four first-place votes.

Head coach Tom Caputo enters his fourth season at the helm, welcoming new faces to the team. Returning this season is All-Conference selection junior Joe Thatcher (1B). This season, the Golden Eagles look to move further in the Skyline Conference postseason, after being eliminated in the first round last season.

St. Joseph's softball team and the University of Mount Saint Vincent have tied for fifth place. Both teams were garnered 46 points. Farmingdale St. and Manhattanville both tied for first place, receiving 77 points and five first place votes. Old Westbury rounded out the top three with 60 points.

Head coach Lisa Jusino enters her tenth season with SJLI, returning all three All-Conference selections from the prior season, seniors Brooke Bove (MINF), Antonia Busa (INF), and junior Jackie Flannery (OF). This season, the Golden Eagles look to advance further in the Skyline Conference postseason, after falling short in the first round last season.

The Golden Eagles baseball team opens their season on Sunday, February 22, when they host Ramapo for a non-conference doubleheader at noon and 2:00 PM. The softball team travels to Rutgers-Newark on Saturday, March 7, for a non-conference match up at 12:00 pm for their season opener.
