Ryan Kurre recorded two hits and scored twice while reaching base twice. Alex Johnston drove in a team-high three RBIs with a hit and two walks. How it Happened (Game 1) In the 1st inning, New Jersey City capitalized on an error and multiple wild pitches to score five runs, while Crema doubled home Kurre to get SJLI on the board and make it 5-1. Both teams were held scoreless in the 2nd inning with no hits recorded. NJCU added a run on Mike Novak's RBI bunt single in the 3rd to lead 6-1. In the 4th, the Gothic Knights scored twice on a single and fielding errors, but Crema's inside the park homerun cut the deficit to 8-2. New Jersey City plated two more runs in the 5th on an RBI single and a hit-by-pitch to make it 10-2. SJLI rallied for five runs in the 6th, highlighted by  Johnston's three-RBI triple, to pull within 11-7. NJCU added an insurance run on an RBI walk in the 7th, and although SJLI threatened late, they could not score, falling 12-7.
