Throggs Neck, NY| The St. Joseph's College (L.I.) women's lacrosse team breezed past SUNY Maritime,19-6, in a Skyline Conference contest on the road on Tuesday to remain undefeated in conference play (6-0), setting up a winner-take-all regular-season finale against SUNY Purchase (9-2, 5-1 Skyline) on Saturday afternoon that will determine the #1 seed in the conference playoffs.

SJC (10-4) was led up front by Meaghan Haber (5 goals, 1 assist), Kristin Carroll (3 goals, 3 assists), Jessica Cordano (1 goal, 4 assists) and Jenna Kelleher. Keeper Lindsay Ramos recorded three saves and earned her 10th win of the season.

After Kelleher and Maritime's Krista Deleva each tallied inside the game's opening three minutes, the Golden Eagles used an 8-0 run to pull ahead 9-1 midway through the first half.

The Privateers would register three of the game's next four scores to cut the deficit to six goals at the break, but St. Joseph's opened the second frame with eight consecutive marks to blow the game wide open and take an 18-4 lead with 6:28 to play.

Deleva went for two more at 5:04 and 1:46, but Melanie Cervone recorded the game's final tally with 13 ticks in regulation to clinch the 19-6 win for the guests.

In all the Golden Eagles generated 42 shots to the Privateers' 11 and also held advantages in ground balls (22-17) and draw controls (16-9).

Not only will SJC play for first place on Saturday afternoon, but head coach Bob Vlahakis and his coaching staff will honor the careers of their seniors, Heather Ferchland, Brianna Mascia, Jessica Cordano, Nicole Danisi, Katie McGarrell, Victoria Russell, Tiffany Willms and Nikki Robinson.

Live stats for the game—which is set to begin at 12:00 PM—will be available here.
