#2 Women's Lax Advances to 4th-Consecutive Skyline Final With Win Over #3 Old Westbury

Patchogue, NY| Brooke Kreuscher and Nicole Stoppelli tallied four times and Kristin Carroll dished out four assists as the second-seeded St. Joseph's College (L.I.) women's lacrosse team defeated third-seeded SUNY Old Westbury 14-6 in the Skyline Conference semifinal round to advance to the tournament final for the fourth-consecutive year.

With the victory, the Golden Eagles (9-8) extend their conference winning streak to seven games and will play Farmingdale State on Saturday in a rematch of last year's final.

Old Westbury wraps its 2017 campaign with a 7-10 mark.

Diana Johnston opened the scoring less than a minute in, and Stoppelli would double the advantage with a tally of her own at 28:30. A 9-0 run (goals from Kreuscher (3), Carroll, Barrett, Stoppelli (3), and Ally Johnston) from 25:04 to 10:34 as the Golden Eagles blew the game wide open and saw the hosts pull ahead 11-0.

Natasha Treuman ended the SJC run at 10:34 and another OW tally closed out the half with SJC leading 11-2 at the break.Kreuscher tallied the second half's opening goal at 25:02 but Old Westbury netted back-to-back goals to cut the Golden Eagles deficit to eight (12-4), but it was followed by a 2-0 stretch from SJC that put the hosts back ahead by 10 (14-4).

Old Westbury wrapped the scoring in the game, but it wasn't enough as the Golden Eagles advanced to the Skyline Conference Final with the 14-6 lead.  

Diana Johnston (3), Carroll (1), and Barrett (1) all contributed to an SJC offense that generated 30 shots.

Johnston would also collect a team-high four draw controls and three groundballs.

Defender Alexis Hillman caused four turnovers while goalie Lindsay Ramos was credited with 10 saves on 16 shots.

The Skyline Conference final will be played at Farmingdale, NY where SJC will take on the Rams this Saturday at 12:00 PM. Live stats will be available here.
